A proud history of service
B•E•R has been servicing Southwest Michigan since 1986. Founder and CEO Bruce Edward Ringer began his career serving our fine country in the United States Navy, where he served on the USS Francis Scott Key Submarine during the Vietnam conflict.
After receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy in 1969, Bruce moved his family to the Midwest where he worked for a large commercial refrigeration company. In 1972 Bruce advanced his career as a lead technician for a mechanical contractor. In April of 1986, Bruce and his son, Steve formed B•E•R Refrigeration, Heating & Cooling.
To Bruce and Steve’s surprise, the business started to take off and they needed to bring on some additional, highly qualified, technicians to serve their growing clientele. Every Journeyman that works for B•E•R has either completed the rigorous 5-year Union apprentice program or has a degree from an accredited college program. These Journeyman are responsible for mentoring our Apprentices until they “top out” as Journeymen also.
B•E•R’s clientele includes schools, hotels, local municipalities, retail spaces, restaurants, manufacturers, and grow facilities along with continuing to service the needs of local home owners.
This brings us to the present day: Steve’s role is now as the company’s president and CEO. He continues his father’s legacy by growing the company and continuing to provide quality HVAC and Custom Sheet Metal services to all of Southwest Michigan. A third generation, Steve’s son, Nathaniel, has completed his Union HVAC education and continues the family tradition of quality service for BER.
