B•E•R has been servicing Southwest Michigan since 1986. Founder and CEO Bruce Edward Ringer began his career serving our fine country in the United States Navy, where he served on the USS Francis Scott Key Submarine during the Vietnam conflict.
After receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy in 1969, Bruce moved his family to the Midwest where he worked for a large commercial refrigeration company. In 1972 Bruce relocated to the Midwest to advance his career as a lead technician for a mechanical contractor. In April of 1986, Bruce and his son, Steve formed B•E•R Refrigeration, Heating & Cooling.
Steve was a recent high school graduate and entered and completed the five year apprentice program. To Bruce’s surprise, the business started to take off and he needed to bring on some additional highly qualified mechanics to serve the growing clientele. Every technician that works for B•E•R has either completed the 5-year apprentice program or has a degree from an accredited college program, in some instances both. Bruce saw an opportunity and decided to add Plumbing services in 1999.
To date B•E•R has completed a number of commercial construction and remodeling jobs for schools, hotels, retail spaces, restaurants and manufacturers, while continuing to service the needs of local residences.
This brings us to the present day, Bruce is still involved with the business but has passed the baton so to speak to Steve as the company’s president.
